When to Use PNG over JPG
JPGs are great for saving space, but every time you edit and save a JPG, it loses a little bit of quality (known as generation loss). By converting your JPG to a PNG, you lock the image into a 'lossless' format. This is the first step any graphic designer takes before cutting out backgrounds, adding text overlays, or importing files into software like Adobe Illustrator or Cricut Design Space.
